startupwa Summit Series REPORT

StartupWA received funding through the New Industry Fund that enabled it to host three Summits in 2021, each focusing on one group of underrepresented entrepreneurs in Western Australia (WA), such are:

  • Female Founders,

  • Regional Founders, and

  • Indigenous Founders.

By applying the World Cafe Methodology, each Summit identified current challenges each group of entrepreneurs face. The StartupWA Summit Series Report provides an overview of the collated participant feedback from all three Summits. It presents the reader with practical recommendations on how the State Government, together with stakeholders from the Western Australian startup ecosystem, may minimise these challenges and contribute to the continuous development of a more diverse startup ecosystem in WA.

This report uses the term Indigenous to refer to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We respect and acknowledge the diversity of communities, identities and clan groups for all Indigenous people of Australia.
